Dr Harry Hagopian, KSG

Somewhere in our hearts, a Catholic remains a Catholic and a Christian remains a Christian, even if they use different labels or descriptions! But I wake up when a baptised man I've known for decades and who defined himself as an atheist - not even an agnostic - says that Pope Francis led him back to his Christian faith. Francis was not a high-calibre theologian, but he was a communicator who sensed the ordinary before preaching the extraordinary. The whole church needs such communicators who wear their faith on their sleeves. I say this as an ecumenist, an Armenian but most fundamentally as a Christian whose faith manifesto seeks the Beatitudes rather than the Encyclicals, & the Word as much as the Mystery.
