You were a wonderful person and an example of humility and compassion to the whole world. Rest in peace and be with us all as we look towards the Conclave and your successor. We miss you, but we know that you are with us.
I pray that your understanding and compassion towards all people will continue to make the church an inclusive, forward thinking environment based on the loving teachings of Jesus not obstacles put their by controlling, power driven mankind.
May your example of love continue to be a beacon of hope. Rest in peace.
With grateful thanks for a most humble pope who was always on the side of the poor, downtrodden anod maltreated. He drove himself till the very end. He was much loved by so many people, Protestants as well as Catholics, and many who had no religious faith. May he rest in peace and be remembered for his kindness, simplicity and affection.
On behalf of the City of Bangor and its citizens, I extend our deepest condolences to the Catholic community in Wales, across the United Kingdom, and throughout the world on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.
Pope Francis will be remembered not only as a spiritual leader, but as a tireless advocate for peace, justice, and the dignity of all people. His commitment to the poor, the marginalised, and to the stewardship of our planet resonated far beyond the boundaries of the Catholic Church. He inspired people of all faiths—and none—with his compassion, humility, and unwavering call for love and service.
In Bangor, a city with deep spiritual roots and a legacy of Christian witness stretching back to Saint Deiniol, we pay tribute to Pope Francis as a man who lived his faith with courage and tenderness. His leadership brought comfort to millions and challenged the world to be kinder, more just, and more united.
At this time of mourning, we join with communities across the globe in giving thanks for his life and legacy. May his soul rest in peace, and may his example continue to light the path for all those who work for the common good.
